Butterscotch Jumbles
3/4 cup shortening
1 package butterscotch pudding mix ( about 3 1/4 oz)
1/2 cup + 2 Tablespoons brown sugar ( firmly packed
2/3 cup honey
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 3/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup raisins
1 cup pecans
Mix pudding , shortening, brown sugar, honey, egg and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients. Stir in coarsely chopped pecans and raisins. Drop by spoon on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes.

White Sugar cookie
This recipes is from Workbasket June 1973
with the cooks
White sugar Cookies
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup shortening
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon soda
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Cream butter, shortening and both sugars. Add eggs; beat well. Add flour, sifted with cream of tartar and soda. Add vanilla. Roll in small balls, sprinkle with sugar and place on greased cookie sheets. flatten with glass dipped in granulated sugar. Bake at 350 degrees , 8 to 10 minutes or until light tan.

Frosty Fruit Balls

Frosty Fruit Balls
1/2 cup or butter or margarine
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 Tablespoon water
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1 1/4 cup sifted flour
2/3 cup chopped pitted dates
1/2 cup chopped nut meats
powdered sugar
Cream margarine and 1/3 cup powdered sugar. Mix in water and vanilla. Add flour and mix well. Stir in nuts and dates. Roll into one-inch balls. Place 2 1/2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. bake at 300 degrees for 20 minutes or until set but not brown. While warm , roll in sifted powdered sugar

Ginger Cookies
1 cup shortening
1 cup hot water
3 teaspoons soda
4 1/2 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup dark molasses
1/2 teaspoon ginger
Combine ingredients . Rolls out on floured surface and cut into desired shapes. Bake on an ungreased sheet at 375 degrees about 10 minutes.
