Ginger Cookies

This recipe is from the workbasket June 1973...with the cooks

Ginger Cookies

1 cup shortening
1 cup hot water
3 teaspoons soda
4 1/2 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup dark molasses
1/2 teaspoon ginger

Combine ingredients . Rolls out on floured surface and cut into desired shapes. Bake on an ungreased sheet at 375 degrees about 10 minutes.
